So November happened

Note: my kids completely destroyed my laptop so I took a little break from blogging while we decided if we wanted another computer that they will inevitably destroy.  In the end we did get another one so I should be blogging more regularly from now on.

So November started with a super loud and crazy and annoying day turning worse when Ivy crawled across the oven while I was making dinner and burning her poor little feet to pieces.  She spent a late night at the dr. getting an antibiotic and some burn cream and orders to change these wrappings twice a day.   She was a champ though and insisted on being batman throughout the entire visit.  It must have given her extra courage.
Later that week we all went in and got flu shots.  Every one of us one by one by one.  The kids took this really well too.  I think it helped that John and I went first.  Afterwards I took them out to lunch.  I think we're going to have flu shot day every year.  It was pretty fun.
The girls have been getting super cute lately.  They call themselves best friends and Lottie is constantly doing things for Ivy.  She soaps her up in the bath, gets her dressed, carries her around, and plays with her non stop.  In return Ivy tells everyone that she's "Lotties Ives".  That is the greatest honor you can have from Ivy.

Then in the middle of November I took my annual trip up to Portland to see my sister.  I really really wanted to leave Wren behind but she wasn't going to have it.  She absolutely would not accept a bottle in those weeks leading up to my trip and was clingier than ever. Like she new something was up. But honestly, I don't think I actually could have left her.  She's my little side kick in everything I do and she's so easy going that I figured I could handle bringing her along.

We visited all our favorite places.  The Paper Store and Salt and Straw on 23rd.
 Our old downtown Trader Joes.
Our favorite burger place that just so happens to be right next to Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters and the Cinetopia.  It seems like a lifetime ago that we were living in that little apartment in the middle of the city.  What a crazy fun adventure that was.  But who we are now is even more fun I think.
And, we even got a couple of free tickets to Time Out For Women since our friend Karyn is some kind of mucky muck with them.
That night we stayed at a hotel downtown in Portland since I had to fly out the next morning.  Also, we just really needed some room service and late night toe nail painting.
This sweet baby could have made this girls weekend a real drag but she was such an angel the entire time.  Sleeping when I needed her to sleep, eating when I needed her to eat.  I love her so much.
She was seriously missed at home though.  I honestly think the kids missed her more than they missed me.  She was excited to see them too.  So cute.

At the end of November Charlie turned 4.  Every year on his birthday I breath a sigh of relief that he has made it this far.  Man, this guy is like a wild caged animal most of the time.  My mom swears he's getting better but I'm not so sure.  The other kids were super excited for him and they made him like 10 birthday cards each.
This is Charlie most of the time: hard hat, underpants, and his trucks.  What a funny little guy.
Fondue isn't his favorite meal but John and I were in the mood so we forced it on everyone else.
I am so crazy about my Charlie.  I hope we can make it to 5.
Then there was Thanksgiving.  For whatever reason I didn't get any pictures that day, such a shame, but here is our annual Thanksgiving music video.
