We drove up there and had lunch at the Train place in Heber which was packed. Like we ate outside because that's all there was. But we didn't mind since it was sunny and almost warm and most everybody was wearing snow pants which meant they were in the area for sledding. Imagine our surprise when we got to the ice castle and the line went down the street and around the corner and down the other street. This was like 15 minutes after they had opened. So, we got in line. Charlie was trailing along behind us like usual and slid his hand up and down some kind of fiberglass pole and got a fiberglass sliver 3 minutes into our wait there. He cried the entire time we stood in line which ended up being about an hour.
But, we're used to crying so we pretty much ignored it. Then Ivy started jumping in mud puddles. That's kinda cute but she got her pants and coat and most importantly her feet all soaking wet and muddy which made her pretty miserable for the rest of the time. So that's 2 crying.
When we finally got to the ticket booth I went to grab my phone with the confirmation email for the tickets on it and as I handed it to the girl my batteries died. Right there. I think she thought about telling me to re buy them but could see that I was about to burst into tears and just let us go in. That was close.
Then Jack realized that he had to pee more than he's ever had to pee in his entire life. He started bouncing around and moaning and groaning and after about 15 minutes in and out of ice mazes he started to cry. So that's 3.
This little angel never complains about a thing .
And the girls perked up once we found the princesses.
In the end, it was a crazy adventure and very cool and I'm glad that we did it.
But you couldn't pay me to relive this day.

I'm glad that the day was somewhat salvaged. I'm sure you don't want to even hear how cool that place is at night when they turn on the colored lights, do you? :) Maybe another year for date night, right?
