October ( I hope once a month summeries aren't going to become my new normal)

We like to go up in the canyon in the beginning of October usually and have hot chocolate and cookies.  We've done it for a couple years now and it's a fun way to welcome fall.
Of course, Ivy got stung by a bee right off the bat.  What is it with this girl?  She's been stung more in her short 2 years of life than I have in my 32.  Weird..
These kids are always hard to get moving for forced memories like this but they are always super happy about it once we get there.

We played a bunch of games like hide and seek and red light green light and simon says.  That's one thing I love about having a whole bunch of kids.  We have plenty of players for games.
We taught Lottie and Jack that boy scouts hold thing.
 Then put Charlie on,
Lottie's face kills me every time.  She thought it was the coolest thing ever.
A few days later we ventured out to the pumpkin land in Orem.

To be completely honest, I only do stuff like this so I can check it off the fall experience list.  These kinds of places are hard for me and stressful with all these kids.  Luckily I had my mom but it was a little cold and I was a little headachey.  But we did it.  10 points!
I just love this picture with Jack's legs in the back.  Awesome!

Then in the middle of October it was like perfect spring weather.
We spent every single warm day outside.  I feel this impending sense of doom when I think about the cold days ahead.

One night for Family Home Evening we took the kids to see the new temple in Payson.  It is so beautiful and so different looking.  They had just added the Angel Moroni.
Our plan was to talk a little about temples and then go get ice creams at our favorite place in Salem.  Our kids were so awful and rude though at the temple that we just came home and put them in bed.  Oh the crying and the screaming that night!
 Working on Halloween costumes:
And making dinner.  I got Wren this little walker and she is so funny in it.  She'll just scoot herself all over the place.  Over to see what the kids are up to on the couch, then over to me in the kitchen.  It kills me.
Speaking of dinner we had lots of meals like this one.  I wanted to try every Halloween recipe I had pinned on Pinterest before the month was over.  Some were better than others but I did get through them all!
The kids were so excited when Halloween finally came.  They wore their costumes all day and ran around like they were on a sugar high before we even got any candy.
We went to the Ward truck - or- treat and then I took the babies home while John walked with the kids the long way getting more candy.  We've never split up before on Halloween and usually end up dragging one or two crying kids by the end of the night.  This year was so much better.
