Today we celebrated John's birthday. It started out nice and slow with some Phineas and Ferb in bed. Our kids come into our room one by one from about 7:30-8:00. I'm so grateful for these slow mornings when we all lay in bed together and talk about the dreams we had last night and our plans for the day.
John and I took the kids over to my parents house after Jack's school and we went out for some lunch and birthday shopping.

I racked my brain this year trying to come up with the perfect gift for him. The problem with John is that the things that he really wants are either way too expensive for me to just go out and buy or so specific that I would never be able to surprise him with just the right thing. So I decided this year to give him the thing that would really mean the most to him. He's going off all this weekend to hike and camp with his friends and I'm not even going to let him know what a huge pain in the neck it's going to be without him. You're welcome John! Luckily my mom and dad are around so we'll be ok.
I know I've said it a million times on this blog but I am so crazy about this man and I'm so grateful to be able to celebrate another birthday with him.

He's a lucky Man.
That's a nice gift Brielle.
Happy Birthday John
Did you guys find and get a good backpack and sleeping bag? We love our Mt. Hardwear tent, just not sleeping bags...Sometimes ebay is the way to go for stuff like that...
Yeah, we looked at the Mt. Hardware sleeping bags but they were too skinny at the bottom for John. He decided that since he's an old man now he's going for comfort and not just weight. We ended up getting a Big Agnes bag. He loves it. The next tent we'll get is going to be a spring bar I think.. We also bought him some Arcteryx shorts on clearance. He's also getting a 90 minute massage tonight that I found on Groupon so he is covered for his birthday I think!
Can you plan my birthday gifts? Those are awesome!
