We got Lottie her very own trampoline for her birthday. So far this has been the most brilliant thing we've ever bought. The kids roll it all over the house and jump and jump and jump all day. Now I say things like, "stop fighting, go jump". It works wonders.
We don't do parties for 4th birthdays so we decided to go up to This is The Place park in Salt Lake. Luckily a couple of our cousins happened to be going that day too and it was so much fun.
Here's proof that I was there:
Everyone's favorite part were the baby animals. You can just reach down and pick up a baby duck or a baby chick. They are so tiny and adorable right now.
There are baby pigs and goats and they just wander around poking their noses into strollers and making babies laugh. So fun.
Although, this was Lottie during the entire animal encounter. She was terrified. Those baby lambs set her off into hysterical screaming - "please dad, get me out of here, please please dad!"
Luckily Lottie has these two. Lottie loves Ansley and Maizy with all the love a 4 year old heart can hold. I hope these girls are best friends for the rest of their lives. They are so lucky to have each other.
They even have free pony rides up there. All my kids rode twice. Strange since we can have free horse rides whenever we want since my in laws have horses - somehow it's different for the kids when it's somewhere new.
Isn't this Brylee the cutest thing ever. She was standing this way when I happened to have my camera handy. Not posing, just standing. Such a sweet little thing.
This is Jack and Tate. My sister-in-law and I had these boys less than 2 weeks apart. We used to lay them next to each other as babies and talk about how cute they would be when they were old enough to actually play. They have totally different personalities but they love to play. Just like we knew they would. They are so funny together.
On the way home all the kids fell asleep. That means we did our job well. We picked up a hot and ready pizza and some cupcakes and that was that.
Oh, one more thing. I brought along some sunscreen specifically for my little red headed baby and completely spaced putting any on her. I feel so bad for her every time I look at her. I'm so sorry Ivy, that's my fault. And, being Ivy, she's not letting me forget it.

It was a super fun trip! Poor Ivy - you gotta just make sunscreen a part of her morning routine: breakfast, diaper, clothes, sunscreen... let's go on another field trip soon!
That Lottie is the cutest kid ever! She is so photogenic. I wish my girls could have been there too, looked like a fun day.
I kind of feel like I'm Lottie while reading this post. For all of the first pictures I'm thinking... " Oh Brielle, you are the best mom in the world. This is the best day ever!"
THen I see that picture of Ivy and I think, "Brielle!!! You are a bad mommy!"
That picture makes me hurt all over. Oh well, luckily she won't remember. And hey, I guess you cant win them all. At least the kids had a fun day. Wollenziens sure make cute kids.
Fun day!
Where did you get Lottie's shoes? I notice Chamaine's girls have the same ones, they are cute.
Oh Robyn we got them on Zulilly.com. You should check it out - we got them for $8. You can't beat that!
Happy Birthday Lottie!
We love you!
Your Great Grandpa William Henrie was one of those first men into the Salt Lake Valley.
One Day you will appreciate that. But for now....happy birthday. Thanks for being great parents john and brielle.
poor poor ivy :(
Wow, Jack is a really great photographer. My kids are always taking photos on our camera and I was just thinking the other day how I was never allowed to use the camera and waste film. Our kids have no idea how lucky they are!
I totally get Ivy and have had similar experiences with Madeline. Zak never needs sunscreen so it was a big adjustment when Madeline and her fair skin came along.
