New Years

My husband has had most of this week off which is a miracle.  This man has never taken a sick day and even has several vacation days he wasn't able to use this year so we were totally excited when the Big Wigs decided to close all the centers for New years.  We have had a lot of fun with our dad around.  We started it off with ice skating.
Jack was shockingly natural on ice skates.  I kept warning him that he would probably be slipping and sliding all over the place and although he did do some of that he loved it and  has been begging for his very own ice skates ever since.  I don't think so...
Charlie wasn't even allowed on the ice.
For New Years Eve I decided to make something on a stick since that feels like a party.  Add to that creamy jello in a fancy plastic cup and it turned into a super fun New Years.
We all made some party hats, filled balloons with confetti and danced around with noisemakers and at exactly 6:45 we popped all the balloons, blew our noisemakers and yelled - Happy New Year!
This will probably be one of the last years we'll be able to pull this on our kids but they went off to bed at 7:30 completely convinced it was the middle of the night.  Awesome.

YAY! Looks like A LOT of fun! I cannot believe you still have the balance to ice skate since you are prego! WOW! What does your new title mean? Happy New Year!

You always doing the funnest things. I need your brain. Good thing my kids are too little to realize they don't have that creative of a mom. But I need to change that up. Any tips on getting ideas would be fun. Websites, books, or whatever. I need some help!

Chamaine: My blog has been going through an identity crisis for the last several weeks but I think I'm finally going to stop messing with it. "Stick a pin in it" is just something I heard once on a movie and I liked the sound of it. I think it was from "Bolt"

Lindsey: I didn't start trying to do things for my kids until my oldest was about 3. But for me the holidays are everything. I live for them since they help break up the monotony. I get ideas everywhere, other peoples blogs, family fun magazine, or this one I just googled "new years with kids". Good luck!
