a very cold walk on a very cold day

We thought it would be super awesome to take the kids to Notre Dame to ride their bikes around one afternoon.
It is a really beautiful campus and all the buildings look like cathedrals.  This one is the Sacred Heart Basilica.  Side note, when I went backpacking in Europe a million years ago I had one goal.  To ride a merry-go-round.  I don't know why.  The day we arrived in Paris it happened to be my 20th birthday and we opened the window in our little youth hostel room and right outside our window was the Sacré-Coeur Basilica (which means sacred heart).  There right in front of the cathedral was a merry-go-round.  It was gift from Paris to me!
They still had all their Christmas stuff up and it was pretty breathtaking.  I didn't even have to tell the kids to whisper.
As far as walks go though, me and my kids hate walks.  We hate them in the winter, we hate them in the summer.  Still somehow I feel like this is a necessary part of child rearing so I do it.  When it's nice we usually go for a walk everyday and I still can't believe that I have to drag them out of the house to go then they whine, or tip over their bikes, or one goes too slow while the other goes too fast.  The only one who never complains is Charlie.  Good old Charlie.

So fun to see all you're doing! The perspective in the second and third pictures are awesome! All of them are darling!
