Preschool

Photobucket
All Jacks friends started Kindergarten this week. For some reason he seems to think it will be his turn soon. But it's another 2 years for him. So I found this really cool website called Science for Preschoolers and it's got free download-able lesson plans for all kinds of subjects. This week we talked about butterflies. The best part is hearing him run up to his dad as he comes home from work talking about metamorphosis and proboscis. And, I kinda like doing preschool in our pajamas.

They even spent some time in a chrysalis which was Lottie's favorite. She didn't really get the metamorphosis and proboscis stuff. But before you say what a waste of an entire roll of toilet paper here's what you do: Pull it apart into little pieces, then grate in a bar of soap and slowly add warm water a cup at a time squishing it up in your fingers until you get to about 6 cups. This is the coolest mud stuff ever. It kept these two busy making castles and mountains and then playing drive through the snow storm. The good part is it doesn't matter if it gets everywhere because it's just soap.

Also, here's what Charlie looks like when John is responsible for dressing him:

Sounds like so much fun! Have you heard of Tot School? I think your kids would have so much fun! I haven't actually done it myself but I have a couple friends who love it. It's really about having fun but purposeful activities everyday with your child. Google "Tot School" to find the blog.
