I was so happy when school finally ended the last week of May. I seriously lost all my steam those last couple of weeks. My kids missed a bunch of days because I just wanted to do other things. Homework was a joke and on the days I did get them there they were at least 15 or 20 minutes late.
So the week after school ended we headed over to swim lessons. I heard all over the place about this lady that teaches in her backyard pool. So I signed up my older 3. This place was the best! I decided to do them all the same week which made it a long, long, very fun week.
Jack was first. He loved it and did really well. He is a good swimmer but he has a lot to learn about technique and stuff.
Then we had a half an hour break where we would eat some lunch and then we had Lottie's class. She is about like Jack. Some technique issues but a good, strong swimmer.
The rest of us waiting and waiting. This was really hard on Wren and Ivy since they never actually got to get in the water. So cruel.
But then it was Charlie's turn. The other kids loved swim class but Charlie,oh boy, it was like another level of euphoria for that guy.
He was grinning the entire time his body was in that water. Like he was born for it.
Where the other kids were learning to dip their heads in and blow bubbles for 5 seconds Charlie was completely under.

It was the most fun thing to watch. Jack and Lottie are both going to be in the same level next summer but Charlie progressed two levels up. He is a natural and was in heaven the entire time.
On our last day we got a hot and ready for our little lunch break. As you can see they were thrilled. Actually the story here is that we had like 10 minutes to get lunch and get back for Lottie's lesson so I asked them if they wanted chicken nuggets or pizza. They all agreed on pizza except for Lottie who begged and begged for chicken nuggets. Since I'm trying extra hard right now to be attentive and listen to Lottie I decided to run through a drive thru and get her nuggets and the rest of us would eat pizza. So I got her a 4 pack. We sit down for lunch and suddenly everyone is fighting over her nuggets and I notice her eating the pizza! What the heck!!
Also, I was that mom who kept forgetting to bring towels. Good thing I had a random blanket in the back of my van.
Also, on the last day we bought cotton candy from these brilliant little entrepreneurs who set up a little lemonade stand right on the street where the swim classes are. Those 9 years old are making a killing over there.
So here they are, our swim lesson pictures.
We loved it and can't wait until next year.
