Today I had to sit in Charlie's class at church since the co-teacher was sick. The teacher was giving a really good lesson about how we can talk to Heavenly Father whenever we feel lonely or sad or scared.
That reminded me of a story that I shared in her class.
I was Charlie's age and I got dropped off at my house after a play date and when I ran inside I couldn't find my mom. I ran upstairs and downstairs and no one was home and I was scared to death. I called my dad at work and he didn't answer so I left a message, "Dad, no one is home and I'm scared to death, come home...in the name of Jesus Christ, amen." I had said a prayer and didn't even mean too! Just after I hung up my mom pulled in the driveway. She gave me a big hug and said she had gotten stuck at the dr.'s office but everything was ok now....
So after that she went on with the lesson but Charlie kept raising his hand bursting that he had a story to tell. Please, please, please, I have to say something, he'd say. Finally after she had finished her lesson she said ok, Charlie wants to share something.
Charlie stands up and clears his throat and begins his story:
One time i was playing with a date ......and i got dropped off at home...and i went upstairs and downstairs......and no one was home......and i called my dad....and i said amen....and mom came in the driveway......and she was at the dr.'s......and it was ok.

The last picture kills me because that is the same exact chore we always give Eli. And he uses like a whole bottle of windex. Every. Week.
