oh so very busy

Last week was crazy.  Jack and I had Mom's Day at his school which was super fun.  All the kids sang some songs and gave us some little gifts they had made in class and then we got to have lunch with them in the cafeteria.

This is Jack and his best school friend Alama.  This kid is really cool and these two boys are so crazy together.  We've had him and his mom over to our house a couple times and they are becoming one of our favorite families.  Alama's dad owns a Barber shop and has started doing Johns hair too.  School is kinda cool!
Later that afternoon they had the school carnival.  It's cool because they don't have the kids selling anything all year.  The PTA just puts on this carnival every spring and that's where they raise all their money.  It was a ton of fun and Lottie is getting pretty excited to start school next year.

Then after that it was my birthday.  32 years!  I am getting smarter with this whole birthday thing and instead of sitting back wondering what John will plan for me I sat down with him a couple days before and told him everything that I needed on that day.  No presents, but a bike ride in the morning, lunch at a Hibachi restaurant, then I wanted to go to the mall sans kids and get myself some earrings that I've been eyeing.
Since he knew exactly what I was expecting it was a perfect day for me.  I'm so lucky to have my husband who will do anything for me.
And, he loves our babies.  What more could I ask for!?!

The next day it was all about getting ready for the arrival of John's parents.  They've been in Mozambique for 18 months and their house has sat empty all that time.  There were a million things to do to get everything ready for them.
Cleaning, mowing, getting the water back on, tuning up the cars, getting groceries, turning their phones back on, the list goes on and on so John was working night and day to get it all done.
Plus there were signs to be made.  We met everyone at their house and worked until dinner.

The day after that we all got up bright and early and ran to the airport.

It seemed like forever waiting there at the end of the escalator but they finally came into view and we were so very excited.

 The kids were over joyed!

We spent the rest of the day hanging out at their house in Spanish Fork.  Eating, and talking, and listening to their crazy stories about the food, and the wells they built and the people.

Eventually we went down to the farm to visit all of Papa John's mules.  That was a happy reunion.

We are so happy to have them back.  It feels like all is right with the world now.
Then it was Mothers Day but that will have to wait until next time...
