Spring Break 2013

St. George has been calling our name all winter.  We made ourselves hold off though until we just couldn't stand the cold any longer and drove down there for Spring Break this year.  We convinced my mom and dad to come too so we could have a couple extra hands with all these kids.
The first thing we did when we got to our hotel was hit the pool.  My kids could swim all day long I think.

They all crashed in our room shortly after except for Charlie who came into our room every hour all night long telling us he wanted to go home now.  In the morning we drove out to the Red Cliffs for some hiking.  I told John I wanted a relatively easy hike that included water we could dip our feet into.
He found us the perfect hike and we had so much fun.

The water was COLD but one by one we all jumped in.  Even me, it felt so good, even though I had to spend the rest of our hike in wet clothes.

After coming back to the hotel for some more swimming and showers we went to find some dinner.  We ate at this cute place right downtown that sold really delicious cupcakes.  We got one of every kind and cut them into pieces so we could taste them all.
We walked around the city center for a little bit and found this really cool splash pad.
The kids were wiped out that night.
In the morning we went back to the splash pad and played for hours.

Going on family trips at this phase of our life is totally exhausting and takes a lot of planning but it is totally worth it.  It's one of those forced memories that is hard in the moment but we'll look back on and smile.  The kids all thanked me as I tucked them into their beds late Thursday night for the best vacation ever, that kinda makes all the work worth it.

I told you that is THE BEST splash pad EVER!! St. George ROCKS! That hike looks fun, too...you'll have to give me the details of where it is so next time we are there, we can check it out! 😀

Oh fun! It looks so warm and nice there. My grandparents are moving to St. George and we were thinking we will probably go visit more often down there now since we'll have free lodging. You'll have to give us tips on the best places!
