Jack has been really anxious to start losing teeth since some of his friends at school had. I was not anxious though because wiggly teeth give me the heebie geebies. He'd been wiggling his top one for a few days and had even asked me to try pulling on it but I just couldn't do it. Then one afternoon he ran back from my mom's house with a great big hole in his mouth. He had convinced my mom to pull it out for him and he was sooooo excited. He put it under his pillow and could hardly go to sleep because of the anticipated arrival of the tooth fairy. You can imagine how crushed he was in the morning when the tooth fairy completely forgot and didn't take his tooth or leave him anything. OOOPS!
You can bet we did better the next night after he had his dad pull out another tooth.
In other news, in my quest to lose this darn baby weight we've been eating a lot of vegetables lately. This recipe for cauliflower is so good and everyone in my family eats it so I thought I'd share.
You chop up and blanch an entire head of cauliflower.
Then while the cauliflower is sitting in ice water you make a simple white sauce (butter, flour, milk)
Then you add about a cup of cheddar cheese. Now you can make this really healthy and add non dairy reduced fat whatever cheese but I just use regular cheese.
Add the cauliflower back to the cheese and stir it all up.
Transfer it all to a baking dish, grate some Parmesan over the top and bake it for about 15 minutes.
It's sooo good. Not the healthiest way to eat cauliflower but super delicious.
Speaking of vegetables, Lottie is absolutely crazy about vegetables. It's the funniest thing. The other day she ate this entire cucumber. The whole thing, all by herself! Funny girl.
