Real Life...

Yesterday, as an experiment sort of, we piled all 5 kids into our van and took a trip out to the Sand Dunes.
We packed lunch and shovels and bubbles and all kinds of fun.
But the kids, who are now stacked super close to each other because of the addition of another car seat, teased and fought with each other the whole way down.

Then, when we finally arrived we found that it was not nearly as warm as we had hoped and that the wind blows the sand all over at about waist level.
Or, if you are only about 3 feet tall, at eye level.
I think the kids had fun though, they ran and jumped off and rolled down and every body ended up covered in sand by the end of the day.  So I'll call it a success..
Wreni and I stayed safe in the car most the time though.  She's just too tired to do much.
One by one, the kids gave up on the wind and the cold and ended up in the van with us.
Today John went back to work.  I know it's time and he's got stuff that's been piling up and stressing him out but it's so hard to let him go.
Someday, in like 30 years, we'll be able to spend all our days together. I bet that will be awesome.

I like the name/spelling of Wreni - SOOOO cute! I like how small she is that that hat drowns her!! 5 kids - 5 car seats..aagghh! Did your mom go somewhere, too? Or will she still be able to help? My girls would love another play date with Lottie ANYTIME...just text me and we'll do it. Oh, and I sure how that in 30 years from now you and John won't have kids around all day so you can't spend time together; if so, kick 'em out of your house! Ha! :)
