Family

One of the big reasons we wanted to move back to Utah almost 2 years ago was so that our kids could grow up with their cousins and grandparents and family all around.  Although that is such an incredible blessing it's also pretty exhausting around the holidays.  A couple days after Christmas we met up with Johns family to go bowling.  Unfortunately there was a two hour wait to bowl so we played at Burger King until our turn was up.

I just love kids in bowling shoes.

The last time I went bowling pregnant I went into labor.  This time I made it through, whew...

They had a ton of fun bowling, and even did pretty well.  Charlie got a strike his first turn.  But after about 6 frames or so they were pretty spent.  It's a good thing for that blessed pass of all passes.
That night we had my family annual talent show at my house.  This is always a crazy, noisy, super fun night and everyone had prepared awesome talents that night.

I have to explain Johns talent.  I had approached him with the idea of shaving off his beard as a special gift to me since I have not been the biggest fan.  He laughed it off and said he didn't think he could part with it after working so hard to get it this long.  So I was shocked when he came out with one of his guitar cases and instead of pulling out a guitar he pulled out his razor.  A Christmas miracle.
This is what he's looked like for the last almost 3 months.  Homeless, intimidating and a little bit menacing.
Now I've just got to used to the mustache I guess.
The next day was Les Miserables with my family.
The day after that was grown up night with Johns family.
Sooooo busy but so fun to be surrounded by all this family.  I don't know if it will always be this way so I'm just enjoying it while it lasts.

That was fun to see your holiday. Oh the beard. Just like his dad. I never liked it on Dad John either. It made him look scarey .
Happy New Year
