On our own:

John and I slipped away this weekend to celebrate our 8 years together.
Thursday morning we drove down to Cedar City stopping in Beaver for a rest on the big rocking chair.
We arrived in town just in time to see Les Miserables at the playhouse there.  It was incredible.  The last time I saw that show I was a little girl and my mom and I saw it in California.  John saw it in New York as a teenager.  It was every bit as wonderful as we remembered.
After our show we walked down the street to this totally adorable restaurant. We both got this incredible cream of spinach soup and then a baked brie and salads.   It was perfect.
It was about 8 that night when we walked past this little club with a sign out front that said "LIVE MUSIC".  So we walked in and waited to see what kind of band it was going to be.  As it turned out it was a critical review of some different local artists.
Not what we expected, but we did learn some new things about ceramics and watercolors...
The next morning we went thrifting.  We scored some pretty great records including Flash Gordan and Honky Tonk Piano featuring Knuckle Fingers Joe.  We can't help ourselves, we just love listening to music on vinyl.  We also bought some video's for the kids.  They were buy 1 get 3 free so that's a pretty good deal.
We also found this great pawn shop were we found John a new wedding ring.
He lost his about 2 weeks ago while working out in the cold and we've both been all bent out of shape about it ever since.
We had kind of thought about seeing something new at the theater down there but there was nothing to see so we ended up going to The Muppets at this old theater down town.  #1:  The Muppets is the funniest movie we've seen in a long long long time.  We were laughing the whole time.  Loved it!  #2:  My dad used to work at this theater a million years ago when he and my mom were living down there.   It was fun to see the place that I've heard so many stories about.
The weather down there was so beautiful this weekend so after our movie we went for a long walk on this canyon trail.

But since I'm pregnant my feet get super swollen and puffy when I walk for a long time so we stopped and dipped our feet until we were ready for dinner.
Such a fun day.

We took the long way home on Saturday and stumbled across this old ghost town.  We walked all over and explored it and it was so cool.

In one part they had these beehive kilns they would use in the mining process.  We couldn't believe how well they were preserved.
 And how huge they were.
The cool thing about not having kids is when you see a sign off the road saying that 2 miles to the right are some old Indian Petroglyphs you can just pull over and go see them.  With our car full of kids we're always anxious to stay on schedule.  But when it's just us we could eat when we were hungry, sleep when we were tired, go do stuff when we felt like it.  It's just a freedom that we really never have in normal life.
We had so much fun hanging out and I'm pretty happy to be hitched to this guy forever.
One thing though, my parents are super awesome to come stay with our kids so we could go and have fun.  I know it's not easy being here with my 4 little wild animals, but my parents never complain.  Even when Charlie threw up the whole first day we were gone and Jack threw up that whole night, and then everyone had diarrhea they rest of the time.  I don't know how they were able to take care of all that while rearranging all the furniture in the boys' room, cleaning all the carpets with the steamer, washing all the couch cushions and pillows, cleaning out all the yard stuff and bikes, and cleaning out the kids play room.
They really put me to shame.  Thanks mom and dad.

Kier's lost 3 wedding rings so far, I don't think he wants it tight fitting so he buys it a touch loose, then in cold weather-there it goes. Lost the first one a Ripple's at Christmas time, it's cold in there! I'm glad you had a fun get-away.

Awesome anniversary trip! I love that freedom to be able to explore where ever you want. Jealous you got to see Les Mis. That is one of my favorites! Glad John found a ring too. Fun times! Excited to see you all this weekend :)
