Our Dad

Today our High Councilman gave a talk in our Sacrament meeting and in spite of our kids being absolutely horrible it was one of the most inspirational talks I've ever heard.  It was based off this talk about being a father to daughters.  What I really loved about it though was he talked about how it drives him crazy when people kind of roll their eyes and say things like, "if you want it to get done, give it to the Relief Society."  He said, "to you women who have husbands that hold the Priesthood, please don't treat them like overgrown children.  Please don't joke about how incompetent they are to your friends or family.  Men respond so much better to women who treat them like the leaders that they are."

Even though my husband doesn't do things exactly the way I do them I don't ever want him to feel like he is incapable.  So new before New Years, New Years resolution: treat my husband like the brilliant, kind, talented, awesome guy he is.

That picture is so cute. And I agree, I think John is such a cute dad. Well, all of my brothers are.

true...I guess I need to stop complaining when Kurt has 3 hours of meetings before church! I am thankful he is a leader of our family and the young men in our ward...

I know this is a late comment on this post However this is THE KEY to a very motivated man. It took me a long time and when I learned it things went from good to awesome. All they want is to take care of, please, work hard and told they are great. They also love to talk about their work. Mary and I did this experiment on her dad once. IT was fun and funny.
