Bilirubins

Aghhhhhhh! Those pesky bilirubins that make it so that I never get to actually leave the hospital with my babies.  Ivy is my 4th baby with jaundice and so although the hospital did finally release her I had to bring her home with this bili light table that she has to lie on all day and night.

The problem with this light table is it goes against everything I believe in for babies.  No swaddling, no skin to skin contact, limiting feedings to 30 minutes every 4 hours.  I did it faithfully though for 2 days and 2 nights but today John and I decided we're done. We sent the light table back and are going to do it the old fashion way.  Sunlight and plenty of nursing.  We're all a million times happier now.
Also in the middle of all this was my 30th birthday.
The cake was awesome, the day was weird.

I didn't realize your birthday was so close to mine! I turned 30 on April 30th. What's also funny is that Lottie's birthday is so close to the 30th and my son, same age as her, had his birthday the same day as mine. Weird. :)
