What do you do on Sunday afternoons when you don't have any family around and all your friends kids are sick and it's 7 below outside? Today we went to the little gym at our apartment clubhouse. Kicking around some footballs, playing some duck duck goose and some red light green light turned out to be the best part of the weekend.
John and I are still learning that we can't do just anything we want to with our 3 little kids.
On Saturday afternoon we tried to take them to this really swanky Japanese hibachi grill restaurant and as soon as we walked in you could feel the whole atmosphere change. I felt like every person there stopped eating, turned to look at us and thought -- "you've got to be kidding!" We slowly backed out of the place realizing the lighting and the decor were way to romantic for our crazy little crew. We went to Red Robin instead.
When will we ever learn?
In other news Charlie will be 14 months this week is still no closer to walking than he was 2 months ago. He isn't interested in it AT ALL. It's so strange to me. We try to make it fun and exciting when he gets himself up like this but he just doesn't care.
I hate to rush him but I've got another baby coming in 3 months and I kinda need to stop carrying him around everywhere.
Oh Charlie -- when will you ever learn?

That gym looks AWESOME! I remember thinking that with Ansley, and exactly ONE week before Maizy was born, she walked! So, he's got time!
Oh, don't rush Charlie - he's only going to be a baby once. His brain and body need to develop at HIS pace. I know it's hard to consider, but that's the truth. Just try to enjoy every phase and not rush it - easier said than done, I know. Just think - he could be a "runner" and you'd be chasing him all over the place with a newborn on your hip. :)
you could try the dangling carrot trick. YOu know tie his favorite toy or treat to a string and dangle it in front of him. I'm sure lottie and jack would love to help you out with this. Good Luck
My 2nd didn't walk till 15 months. He was the fastest crawler in all the land, no need for walking. haha. Your Charlie is so cute with his big sparkling eyes.
