I've got to say 4 year old Jack is wicked awesome. Since about 2 weeks ago when he realized his birthday was coming up he's been a new man. "What can I help you with mom?"
"I see you're changing a diaper right now, so when your done can you help me find Buzz?" "I wanted the blue plate but whatever you give me is ok." etc. etc. It's been so nice. I can see glimpses of who Jack is going to be and I like it. I now realize I just have to keep the other kids alive until they're 4 and then we can all have a lot more fun.

Jack has wanted to have a camp out with his dad for a long time so on the night before his birthday they finally did it. I couldn't believe they lasted all night--but Jack loved it.
Did you know they don't do Father and Sons Camp Outs here?.......Weird.

For his birthday we got him Moon Sand. Now I don't usually plug products but Moon Sand is the coolest stuff on Earth. My kids have played with it at least 2 hours a day since Jacks birthday. They LOVE it. I even enjoy playing with it. It's easy to clean up, it doesn't stick to your fingers or get ground into your carpet and it never dries out. I bought 15 lbs. of it through the constructive playthings website and it was a lot cheaper than buying it 2 ounces at a time at Target. All I'm saying is if you have a 4 year old they will love Moon Sand.

We also went to one of those Bouncer places with the all the inflatable stuff. I wish this place was in my backyard because my kids would really like to do this everyday. It was fun.
But October 8th is a long day because not only is it Jack's birthday but it's our anniversary. I remembered this year that although I'll want to go out to eat because that makes it feel special there is nothing we could get that would be better than what John can make. So we had fondue. We made enough for like 10 people. We ate for 3 hours. After the cheese fondue and the meat fondue we just couldn't rally ourselves for chocolate fondue. Oh man, I'm still full but it was sooooo delicious it almost made me cry.

Happy birthday to Jack! I've seen the moon sand stuff and actually it was on my list of potential b-day gifts for Tate. I ended up getting him something else, but I will have to get some one day and try it out. Glad you guys had a good anniversary too! Oh and that's awesome Jack is being so helpful and polite. Tate can be the same way sometimes, but recently he's been whining a lot...can't wait till it passes.
WOE! Next year Jack will be 5...that is CRAZY. Looks like a very nice weekend. Do you think Ansley is too young for moon sand?
I think Ansley might like Moon Sand. The only problem will be that Jack is the one who makes up all the scenarios which is what makes it fun. I don't know if Lottie would sit and play as long without him initializing things.
That looks so fun, delicious, wonderful, etc. You are the best mom and wife!
