Mothers Day
You know that book--If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? That book is totally motherhood to me. My kids run around all day going from activity to activity to activity needing things on a whim and sometimes I feel like my only purpose is to clean up after them, to reach things for them and every couple hours to feed them so they can keep going.
Sometimes I need to remind myself that I'm not just managing kids but raising real live people who will one day be adults.
So this Mothers Day I am committing to becoming a better mother. I will say yes more often, I will lose my temper less often and I will not not look too far ahead. I'm going to start that tomorrow but today I'm going to lock my door, lay in my bed eating the See's Chocolates John got me and ignore the mayhem that is happening downstairs.

A Birthday and Mother's Day all in the same weekend, what fun!! Hope you had a good Birthday, know we were thinking of you and wishing we were closer to help you celebrate and it sounds like you're having a great Mother's Day so far.
Love you!
I had a really good brithday--I'll put up pictures of that later. I'm just glad it was in the same weekend and not on the same day like last year. That felt like a rip off. I miss you guys too.
haha so true. I like the locking your door and eating chocolates part. I locked my door and read a book and took a nap today. A much needed break! I agree about being a better mother. I feel like I tell myself that at the beginning of each week and maybe one day I will get better at it. Here's hoping!
Kurt got me See's chocolates, too! It was a great day! Can't wait to see your birthday pics...hey, I heard you ran your first race?! How did it go!? Congrats to you on so many levels!
