Thankful

Wow what a crazy couple of days! I'm laying in the hospital with my dad's laptop so I thought I should put up some pictures. I drank the castor oil monday and started having little contractions all night. In fact at about 12:00 am I told John that I was just going to try to make it to 1:00 and then I would need to go to the hospital
but next thing I knew I woke up at 2:30 and the contractions had slowed way down. So Tuesday morning we kissed the kids goodbye and headed to the hospital.

The dr. wanted to start me off really slowly so they gave me a pill every 4 hours to "soften" things. He was hoping that my body would take off on it's own but it didn't. I took that pill every four hours for 24 hours waiting for something to happen but it never did. Honestly though I didn't mind sleeping and watching tv for an entire day. I don't ever get to have days like that. I slept really well Tuesday night and then at about 9:00 Wednesday morning the dr. decided to start the pitocin. My nurse asked me if I wanted to get the epidural right away or wait and I figured I would go pretty quick once I got that pitocin so I got the epidural at about the same time as the IV. Wow! I would love to have all my babies like that. I knew contractions were coming really quick and intense but I was sooooooooo relaxed. John got in bed with me and we watched a movie on the laptop then I started to feel that pressure that you do when your getting ready to push. I told the nurse and she checked me---I was at a 9 so they called the dr. to come right away. I pushed about 3 times and he was out. Start of pitocin to delivery was about 3 hours.

We're so happy he's finally here and we can't wait to introduce him to the rest of his family. It won't be for awhile though since he's obviously pretty yellow so he and I will hanging out at the hospital for the next few days. Honestly though, it gives me a chance to recover before I go home to the insanity.

p.s. I love love love not being pregnant -- I can see my ankles again!!

He looks like a John/Brielle baby to me, reminds me of Lottie. Glad things went so well! That feeling of unpregnant right after birth is the BEST, even though I have a jelly belly it's still great and sleeping on my back for the first time in 6 months! Happy Thanksgiving you guys.
