Here's how it goes around here--
6:00 -- Dinner
6:30 -- Both kids in the bath
6:45 -- Lotioning, desitining, diapering, jammying
7:00 -- Bottle for Lu while Jack watches whatever we've rented from the library--tonight "Diego"
7:15 -- Drop Lottie off in bed on the way to Jack's room
7:16 -- Stories in the "happy chair" (called that because this is where Jack goes until he's ready to be happy again)
7:25 -- Songs: tonight--Wollenzien song, honk your nose, patty cake, and Thomas the Turkey (John made this one up to teach Jack about thanksgiving because his last original song "halloween cat" was getting super old)
7:35 -- Lay Jack down and say "night night Jacks nose, night night Jacks ears, night night Jacks teeth. " This part goes on until Jack says mama- door please. That means he wants to be left alone.
7:36 -- 11:00 -- Clean up the tornado that went through the kitchen, dining, living and bathrooms and regain my sanity to do it again tomorrow.
Is this how long it takes everyone to put their kids to bed? Sometimes all this seems like it takes toooooo long!
By the way--something drastic is happening to my hair tomorrow!

You are too cute. That looks familiar. Add toys all over the yard to clean up. Minus the other adult around. I feel you! Your babies are lucky!!!
Love to you all!
- hey..any chance your friend that took g-ma and g-pa's pict would send me a copy? Or mail me one? Or sell me one????
Ditto. When I saw that picture of your blondness I wondered if you were still going to change your hair. Funny that you didn't mention that when I was on the phone with you a few minutes ago.
Yeah Brielle. I love you and think of you every time I make your yummy veggie taco soup. You have a cute little girl now - how great is that? Oh, I'm so happy to see you! *hugs*
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm just the opposite about bedtime. I am pretty much LOSING IT by bedtime and seriously just want to toss the kids in bed and slam the door. It does take way too long for the whole process and I am so out of patience by 8:00 it is not even funny.
Yeah it usually takes us 30-40 min. to put tate to bed. It's funny we do a lot of the same things. Like song time and all that. I'm excited to see what you do to your hair!
Oh Brielle! I'm so glad you found me! I have thought about you at least a million times since you moved away and I'm so glad to be able to keep in touch now again.
You have another baby!!! Wow, I can't belive it! She is beautiful and Jack is no longer that chubby little baby anymore. He is a big brother! (I'm really excited, can you tell?)
I am so excited to back read your blog :) I sent you an invite to mine.
I guess we are either too tired, or just dud-parents, because there is no singing time, and the kids read to themselves these days. Bedtime around here consists of 15 minutes of verbal prodding, family prayer, reading (if there's time), and lights out. Not too exciting - my least favorite part of the day. And, dishes? Unless one of the boys did them, they usually wait until morning - oh well.
Hey there stranger - it's so good to hear from you - it's awesome you found me and we can stay in touch now.
Thanks for the compliments on the costumes - I made them. I am a WEIRDO and think I have to make my kids costumes every year - so there it is, my little secret- homemade Halloween costumes.
So, how cute is your little family! And you have a little girl - that is great. Where are you guys living? I think I read somewhere about Indiana? That's crazy - what are you guys doing there? Keep in touch!! Oh and yes, bedtime routine - what a nightmare - I, like Wendi, am ready to chuck the kids and slam the door, it is such a battle, I swear we need to start at 5 just to be done by 8:30.
Ditto with Stephanie. It used to take us 2 hours to get the kids to bed, but now most of the time is in telling them to take a shower, brush teeth, and so forth. No singing or happy chairs over here.
Can't wait to see your hair!
so are you going to post a pic of your hair?
You should record the songs john sings so that others can teach their children fun songs. I'd love to hear the Thanksgiving song.
