Lottie turns 6

We had a really fun day today celebrating Lottie's birthday.  I really feel for those poor middle kids especially Lottie because she typically doesn't throw a big fuss over much of anything which makes her easy to overlook.  I don't want Lottie to ever feel forgotten so it was fun today making everything about her.

Of course her brothers took over her presents pretty quickly.  Ugh, brothers... We dealt with that for the rest of the day pretty much.

But Jack did get the bike to do it's spark trick a bunch of times which was pretty cool.
After dinner and Lottie's soccer game we had a couple of her best friends and some neighbor kids over for a pinata.  It's the only thing Lottie asked for this birthday.  She just really really wanted a pinata.

We were planning on doing it out in the yard but the day turned cold and rainy so we did it in our basement.  That was just as fun.
 Poor Ivy, not even close.

Every night when I tuck in my girls I make them repeat me as I say: I am smart, I am brave, I am kind, I am beautiful, my mom and dad love me and my Heavenly Father loves me.  We've done this a bazillion times so sometimes I switch it up with things they did that day like, I am a good listener or I take good care of my baby sister Wren.  Tonight when I was tucking Lottie in she took off with our little mantra before I had even started and was listing all kinds of awesome things about herself.  That made so happy.  I hope that Lottie will always know how great I think she is but also that she will be able to identify for herself the things that she does well.  She does so so many things well and we love her so much.

Just for fun here's a picture of Lottie and I on her first day and on her first birthday:

And today.
Pretty soon I'm not even going to be able to lift her up.  Happy birthday to my not so little Lottie girl.
