Jack turned 7 this year. This isn't a "party" year so we did family stuff all day, which I think is so much more fun. I got him a Harry Potter costume and some new beyblades before school and then after school we took he and Lottie to a little thing at Thanksgiving Point. He got to make a couple Halloweeny things and then go on a spooky tour of the museum and then make a little snack. It was cute. Afterward we let him pick out anything he wanted in the museum gift shop. This snake is what he wanted.......whatever...
The best part is that he asked to not have cake this year because it's so dry and boring. (I couldn't agree more) He wanted Johns banana pudding instead. That was a good choice.
Then the next day John and I headed up to Park City to celebrate our anniversary for the rest of the week.
The leaves up there are so breathtakingly beautiful right now. I couldn't stop taking pictures with my little phone. I'm so glad John and I got married in October, it's such a lovely time to have an anniversary every year.
I've been wanting to go on these Park City rides forever so I made John do it too. He is not a huge fan of these kinds of thrill rides involving heights but he went along with it for me.
We Zip-lined and then we carried our sleds up to the alpine slide. It all just looked like something out of a painting..
Around dinner time my mom and dad met us in Heber to drop off Wreni. She was beyond excited to see us and have the two of us all to herself. It would have been cool to have been totally baby less on our trip but she's just not there yet. That time will come I suppose.
That night we bundled her all up and went down town for this ghost tour that we had heard about.
I really wish I had gotten a better picture of our tour guide than this but it's all I got. He walked up and down main street with us and told us all the spooky stories that have taken place in this old church and that old hotel. It was something we would never normally do but it was so much fun.
John found this awesome piano as we wandered around and played some stuff. I am constantly amazed but the endless talents of this man.
Wreni was considerate and slept the entire time. What a sweetie.
The next day we lazied around our room all morning. John went for a jog, I put Wren down for a nap and then watched tv and ate cereal wrapped up in front of that fireplace. It was so nice to have no where to go or anyone needing our attention. Just quiet.
No one except her of course.
Once we got around to getting out we had some lunch and then hit up the outlets.
That night we had french bread and cheese in front of the fire while we watched movies.
We spent our last morning hiking. I just couldn't get over all those aspens and the bright colors and the sky.
We had such a nice quiet week. I'm so grateful to my mom and dad for having such a close relationship with each one of my kids. I never have to wonder or worry about them because I know they are so well taken care of. I know I'm super duper lucky to be able to take off with John every now and then and when I come home I feel so much more prepared for the craziness and noise that is my life.
I'll get back to the house stuff next time..
