The days leading up to the beginning of school were tons of fun. We did some shopping and had a lunch box tasting to see what kinds of things, besides nachos, Jack would eat for lunch.
We went to the open house the day before and met the kids' teachers and got to see their desks.
Then the night before we had a special back to school dinner.
The kids were astounded at the rolo pencils I made them. This is a new back to school tradition I think. Those pencils were a huge hit!
Jack laid out his clothes and couldn't wait for morning to come.
Everyone asked me if I was sad to see him start all day school. No Way!!! I'm just so excited for him to start this new part of his life. He gets to have his own little world apart from our home to experience and I'm so happy for him. (and me)
Ivy insisted that I get a picture of her too.
After school we had cookies and milk while we talked about it all. He said that it was soooo long. I asked what he did at recess and he said, "I just leaned against the fence and relaxed cuz I was so tired."
We had to wait a whole week until Lottie started school which was rough but when the day finally came she was so ready. She asked me every 5 minutes all morning long if it was time to go yet. She is in afternoon kindergarten so that's a lot of asking!
She is loving her new routine and her sweet teacher. Jack picks her up from her class and then they wait outside for me. When I picked them both up after her first day Jack told me that "Lottie is friends with e.v.e.r.y.b.o.d.y..." That is so Lottie.

I know this is a "back-to-school" post, but your house in the background of the pictures looks amazing. I can't wait for the "new house" post.
