Daily 5 Wallywoggles

A few weeks ago I mentioned this new system we've started in our constant effort to get our kids to contribute to things around here.   I used this tutorial I found on Pinterest to make a daily 5 chart and just adapted it to what I need each kid to be doing each day (or what they're capable of doing).  Let me tell you this daily 5 thing is working wonders around here.  I will wake up in the morning to the sound of Jack practicing his piano and Lottie reading books on her bed and Charlie cleaning this mirror in the dining room. (he cleans the same mirror every day..it's funny)

Here's how it works:  I bought a big roll of tickets from the party store and everyday when they've finished their daily 5 they get 4 tickets.  They can earn more throughout the day by helping me with stuff or by being extra nice or thoughtful.  The other day we went out to eat and I gave them each 5 tickets before we went in and I took 1 away each time I had to remind one of them of the restaurant manners.  Jack lost 2 and Charlie lost 4 but I think I made my point.  They will do anything for the tickets.  Of course it's not perfect, I mean I have to be ok with things not looking quite as neat as I would like them or done quite as efficiently I would have done it myself but at least they are doing things right?

Then at the end of the month we get out the Wallywoggle store and they spend their tickets.  Jack had saved up 86 tickets and was so excited to buy some stuff.  There are cheap things like water balloons and pop-its and there are expensive things like a new Harry Potter game for the Wii for 150 tickets and a princess dress for 180.

So far the system is working great.  It will at some point stop working and we'll have to change it but for now it's nice to get a little help around here from these guys.

It's like looking at my life. We have the same bowls, the same cereal spilled, the same jobs for the kids. You're better than me though. My perfectionism kicks in and I just HAVE to straighten the bed after them! I know it's not good for them though I need to stop! We did mommy bucks with fake money for awhile but then they started caring too much about the prizes so now we have to do things differently. It worked for a long time though.

Few questions: where did you find the clip art? And did you make several for each child to change it up?
