So this is what it looks like when a boy and his dad go camping

So, every year John's family goes to Lake Alice in Wyoming around the first week of August. This year though, since his parents are on their mission it looked like it wouldn't happen, but John, and his brother and his brothers friends decided to go anyway. Jack has been talking about Lake Alice all year long. Normally though Lake Alice means his Grandma and lots of cousins and delicious food and a zip line and tons of fun stuff to do. (The mules bring up all the fun stuff) So I was a little worried how this trip would go with just a couple of boys going.
John said he tried to pack as light as he could for Jack so that he would be able to carry his own back pack up.  That lasted about 10 minutes before John was carrying that too.  Poor John, too much weight to drag up the mountain!

Here's all the boys up there.
On the rock chairs they've built over the years.
Jack caught his very own fish.
Then John cut it all up and they ate it for dinner.  John told me that Jack loved it but then later that night when they were talking in the tent Jack said that maybe next time they catch a fish they should let him go back to his home in the lake.  I guess Jack doesn't have that killer instinct after all.  (I'm glad)

John said that it went pretty well considering the lack of Grandma's and cousin Tate's.  Maybe next year though well all be up there together again.
