Lottie doesn't get sick all that often so when she does it hits her really hard. Jack comes up with all the good ideas around here but Lottie is the one who makes them fun. She really is the heart of our family. So while she's been down I've had to come up with things for the rest of the kids.
This game is kind of cute. But it bugged Jack that the dice only has 1's and 2's. He kept trying to roll a 6. Here's the link to download. http://www.toddlerapproved.com/2011/07/escape-volcano-shape-game.html
I really love these sight word worksheets. Jack has been getting pretty good at them too but sometimes when he's not in the mood he'll say - why do I have to learn this now when I'm gonna learn it in school anyway? That's a really good point...downlaod: http://kindertastic.blogspot.com/2011/07/sight-word-journal.html#comment-form
And then there's Gak. We make Gak a couple times a week around here. It's quick to make with only 3 ingredients and it will entertain everyone. Even me.
I add the food color to an entire bottle of glue.
Then I add some of the liquid starch. I don't measure anything, but I start out slow with the liquid starch. After a second you have to switch from mixing with a spoon to kneading with your hands. It will get weird for a minute - really stringy and wet but just keep kneading it and it suddenly comes together.
It even attracted Lottie - for a minute.
Honestly though, I need Lottie to recover. She's better at entertaining everyone than I am.

Boy Lotties cheeks look Red. What cool and fun stuff. Thank you for taking them to the Temple.
I know you will be glad because one thing seems to hold true. What talk about and what you think about is what you become.
