Mountains in the fall

We've been meaning to go for a canyon drive for a couple weeks now but we never get to it.  Are we really that busy or just lazy?  Today though we dropped everything and went.  We were about a week late for the leaves but it was still fun to be hiking outside with my family.  I say it every time we do something like this --- but we should be in the mountains more often...
