and he's taking it very seriously. No more coming in our room in the middle of the night, started putting his dishes in the sink, and he even gave Lottie a hug when she stubbed her toe in the yard. I'm liking 5 year old Jack so far. We opened presents in the morning and played with his new Lego's for the rest of the day. We had crepes for breakfast which are he and Charlie's favorite thing on earth.
Then we had a soccer birthday with all his cousins. Lot's of pizza, lot's of balloons, lot's of cousins.....really fun.
Even with his strange expression in this picture Jack had a great day. As I walked out of his room at bedtime he said, "thank you mom for working so hard to make my birthday extra special." What a sweetie. It WAS a lot of work though and I'm grateful that John and I have decided to do big birthday parties for only the 5th, 8th, 12th, and 16th birthdays. One big birthday down....
