You know what I just don't understand: why do I spend hours upon hours folding the laundry of 6 people into neat little piles, then carefully place them all in the appropriate drawers only to have the kids throw everything out of those drawers looking for something to wear? Such a waste of my time! I've recently perfected our laundry routine and it works so well I must share. Each of them get their own bucket and everyday when I unload the dryer I just throw things into them. No folding, no organizing, nothing. Then about once a week or whenever they run out of clean underwear they come and pick up their bucket and put everything away in their drawers. It's so simple even my 18 month old can do it (with some help from his brother). Seriously, our laundry system has made my day so much easier.
Also to good not to share: Jacks shirt -- I mean we do live in a trailer park after all.

Awesome idea.
I wash each of the kids clothes in their own loads. They have their own dirty clothes hampers/drawers. If they are old enough to not spill on themselves, so they have a smaller load, I add in towels. Lee and I even have different hampers, one for whites and one for darks. No more sorting!
I actually LOVE This idea Brielle!! I do something similar to what Becca does but I may do some tweeking and incorporate your buckets into our Laundry routine...with a few modifications for our large brood. Thanks!! :)
My mom did the same thing with baskets. I've incorporated the same system but my kids just use the laundry room as their dressing room - drives Leon nuts. "Why do we even bother buying them dressers for their rooms?" he says. When their cubbies get too full I have them haul up their clothes, but what I've folded does end up dumped or stuffed into a drawer. Once in a while when I feel ambitious/nice I'll put everyone's clothes away for them, but I think there's nothing wrong with kids doing this for themselves. The laundry system is so specific to the floorplan of a house, ages of kids, and amount of work willing to do. Glad to hear you've found yours.
