Orem Summerfest

We did Summerfest this year.  All of it.  Rides, pizza, expensive carnival type drinks, parade, glowsticks, fireworks, all of it.  My kids were awesome.  Ivy even fell asleep during the fireworks so it was a great day.  On the way home I heard Jack muttering to himself --the funnest funnest funnest funnest funnest day ever--  It makes me a proud mom.

p.s. I was awoken at 3 am though with Jack two inches from my face saying he had a bad dream.  What did you dream? I asked, he said "that Lottie got desert and I didn't!"  Oh to be a kid....

We used to do the whole thing, too - rides, sno cones. But, now that the kids are older, they want to ride things like "The Screamer". I don't know about you, but I was always just a tiny bit nervous about the structural safety of the little boats and motorcycles, let alone "The Screamer." However, we did get stuck on the Ferris Wheel one year as the worker had loaded it wrong and couldn't get it to move. There's just a little bit of anxiety as you see the carnival worker run away from the ride in a small bit of panic to get someone to help. Dallin was just little and was a bit traumatized by the whole ordeal. I don't think I'm quite up for "The Screamer" yet and my boys wouldn't be caught dead in the little boats with the bells - not that they'd even be allowed on them anymore. I agree with Jack, Summerfest WAS the funnest day ever.

Stephanie--I liked how the separated the little kids stuff from the older kid stuff. I have no interest in any of those older kid rides. Thanks again for the seats at the parade!

oh man this post made me laugh so hard. I am so glad you are live so close now. I love your kids! And you too of course!
