It's been interesting to read how different people feel about inducing labor. I'm kinda in the middle but it seems most people are on either end of the debate. I am planning on being induced on May 5 which is 3 days before my due date or 14 days from today. I would be nervous about it but I've had two totally wonderful and pleasant inductions and I'm hoping to have one more before I call it quits. (although to be fair both of those were either on or after my due date) One of the biggest reasons I'm so anxious to get this part over with is my poor left leg.
Remember my leg at 5 months:
I thought that was awful. Here's what it looks like now:
I just need to get this baby out and never gain 40 pounds again - and maybe get some sun...
Plus I found Lottie asleep last night pretending to be pregnant and that's just weird...

i was induced before my due date with my second and third and both went really well so i have no qualms about it. those veins are out of control and look sooo painful! they alone should make your induction medically necessary! good luck!
Holy cow I seriously have never seen anything like that!! You must be in so much pain and discomfort! EEK!
As for the induction, I never did get to chime in on it. I've had 2 inductions, 1 natural in the hospital and 3 home births so I think I can safely say aside from c-section I've done it all. I don't really love the idea of induction and lucky for me both of mine turned out great. What really worries me is the high risk of c-sections related to induction. Second, Why rush things? The baby will come when ready.
That said...I think I agree with Rachel who commented above me...the veins in your legs are out of control, that can't be healthy and that alone should make induction medically necessary. So, happy pushing. I'm glad you made the right decision for you. Hugs and prayers. <3
