South Bend, IN

South Bend is best known for being the home of Notre Dame of they also have a bunch of cool museums.  This weekend we went to as many as we could.  First was the South Bend Chocolate Factory.  It was fun because the kids were free and we got 5 bags of free chocolate covered pretzels at the end.  We also got to see them making candy and dip our very own spoon into the chocolate.

I don't know if they have South Bend Chocolate Company candy in any other parts of the world besides Indiana but if you ever come across it don't bother with it.  It's waxy and cheap tasting.  Just so you know...
We went to the Studebaker Museum and this was the only picture I managed to get of the kids.  I don't know why they can't give me normal faces.  The museum though was really cool though and it made John and I want to find an old Studebaker to restore.
We also went to the Center for History and they had a fun little kids area.  We did some fishing and Jack spent a good 45 minutes sweeping up the hay in their little barn.  I can't get him to sweep at home but he was all over it at the museum.
Also, I think I kind of forgot to mention it but Charlie did finally figure out the walking thing.  He's been walking really well for about a month now.  He seems so much happier now that he's figured it out and he spends hours chasing Jack and Lottie around.  It's the cutest thing ever.

We had so much fun at all those places when we lived there. Though we thought the chocolate was really good. Maybe they got a bad batch or something. We had a membership to the Center for History/Studebaker. We only got to play there once after the remodel of the kids area, it was the opening of it. I love taking the tours of the old houses too. Glad to see you are out exploring your city and having fun!

So, where's the picture of you and John in the jaunty hair caps? Looks like fun.

Charlie has a lot of teeth and he's walking! For some reason I still picture him as a baby. Fun weekend! Can't wait to have you guys back!

Fun weekend! In that first pic of Charlie, he looks like Jack - first time I have ever noticed that! Cute!
