Christmas at home

Photobucket

This is our first Christmas alone. Alone! No family coming out, no traveling to see anybody, no nothing. When I first realized this about 2 months ago I went through all 5 stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally I just recently arrived at acceptance. I hate to admit it because I really really love my family and my husbands family but I'm actually pretty excited about our quiet Christmas at home this year.

I'm excited to go to the Studebaker Mansion for Christmas Eve brunch, I'm excited to have fondue on the floor with John once the kids are tucked in their beds, and I'm excited to spend all Christmas Day in our pajamas playing with toys and eating good food. My kids are especially excited about picking out presents for each other and I'm super excited about Jack writing Lottie's name all by himself on her present.

That mansion looks cool. Way to go Jack! Your family will have a fun day on Christmas, you can relax and be on your own schedule and do whatever you want.

Your "Christmas at home" may surprise you. The boys and I look back to one of our favorite "stay at home" vacations. We kept entirely to ourselves and indulged in plenty of "just us" time...it was very rewarding!!! Nothing like eating, sleeping and playing without a schedule.
