Stake Conference

When you don't live in Utah you have to drive a long way to get to stake conference which is hard for my little kids so this time we decided to go up the night before and stay in a hotel. It was totally awesome. So awesome in fact that I didn't even get any pictures until we started for the church Sunday morning and our van started to overheat.

Luckily we made it to a gas station where we put some water in and thought since we'd come all this way to go to conference we should just go ahead and scortch our little engine getting there.

Although we did have to stop at this little pond and get more water, (in Indiana there are more random ponds than gas stations to get water from) we did make it to conference and were able to hear from Richard G. Scott which was cool. Then we started the long trip home.

We really did think we would just stop every 15 minutes or so and put more water in until this really nice family from our ward saw us filling up this way and offered to tow us home. (we have really great friends here in Indiana). So all our kids played while the men folk hooked up our sad little van.

and off we went. All in all it was a fun and eventful weekend.

Oh and Jack threw up all over the table at the fancy Indian restaurant on Saturday night. Cleaning it and him all up made me feel like throwing up too. So I'm not going to be able to smell Indian food for a while now.

I miss driving to listen to Stake and General Conference...how far is it to your Stake Center?! Poor little van...are you going to start van shopping?! Sorry! But it really does sound like the type of weekend that just has to make you laugh, you know?!

Just think of all the big-time blessings you got for faithfully going to Stake Conference despite all of the obstacles.

Sounds like quite the adventure. I'm glad everything worked out and that you guys have good friends to take care of you out there!
