Camp'n

Photobucket
Good things about camping in the living room:
* the kids thought we were the coolest parents in the world
* the baby got to sleep in his own bed at his normal 6:00 bedtime
* listening to the rain and thunder outside
* playing games and telling jokes with the kids until John and Lottie finally passed out

Bad things:
* we didn't get out our "real" camping stuff and the floor was mighty uncomfortable
* the kids went to bed super late and woke up super early so we paid for it the entire next day

Even though it doesn't look like it in this picture I think we would do it again.

That's awesome! We would pull all the mattresses in to the living room and I put up stars on the ceiling to look at and we had a fire in the fireplace to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I never thought to use a tent.

So fun! Sometimes it's hard to go the extra mile of fun for your kids, but I think it's worth it in the end. Even just to see the joy on their little faces for a moment. I think it will be times like your camping night that they will remember the most :)
