Here are our favorite parts of the "Grand Parade":

------Amanda Overmyer Apperance (so that's what happens to American Idol cast offs)
------When the Herbie car ran out of gas right as it passed us and John had to run out into the parade to help push the thing into the parking lot around the corner.

We ended up forgoing the pork on a stick and sprung for the whole pork meal. Sadly I couldn't actually bring myself to eat any actual pork (I know that's lame) but John said it was one of the best pork chops he'd ever had.
Maybe next year we'll work up the courage to try the pork ice cream..

You are joking - pork ice cream? Man, that's just weird!
We went to that once too! The whole thing is just hilarious, especially how much people talk it up and how everything is named something like 'porky' or 'piggy'. Love it!
Is the pork ice cream made from the milk of a pig? Eewww. We had cactus ice cream in Arizona.
I'll bet that pork ice cream would go great with the garlic ice cream they have at the Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA. Who thinks of this stuff?
I think it is so interesting that wherever one goes in America...cities have food celebrations (Pleasant Grove - Strawberry Days; Gilroy - Garlic Festival; Payson - Onion Days, etc.)...even in Indiana!
Pork ice cream? I do hope you're joking.
By the way---I am kidding about the pork ice cream.
