inevitable
I thought it was so cute the first time I came around the corner and saw Lottie doing this. Now it's been a couple weeks and I can't keep her off the stairs for anything. Every time I put her down she power crawls over there.
So this was bound to happen at some point. Everyday this bruise looks worse---poor thing.
Luckily this little lady bug was found on the floor in the train tracks room and saved the day. Jack kept squeezing him and rolling around with him and I would think he's a goner for sure now, but he was a fighter and lasted all the way until lunch time when I had to put my foot down and let him go outside.
Coming up: My mom and dad have finally completed their mission and will be spending their first 2 weeks home with us!!!! I'm really trying to work out a long weekend in Chicago for John and I but we'll see how things go.

I always hated to see my babies with bumps and bruises. It was like a constant reminder of my being a non-attentive mom.
I can't believe your parents will be home soon. When is their release date?
I'm glad Lottie is okay, I have to say I think all my kids did at least one tumble down the stair case. (Thank goodness for carpet!)
Also, yippee about your long getaway!!! Enjoy!!!!
Poor lottie! That looks like it hurts. Chicago?! That would be so much fun; I hope it works out for you guys. That's crazy your parents are done with their mission. Time sure does fly.
That looks like a long staircase. I remember being so relieved when each of my kids learned how to go back down the stairs. Poor Lottie.
I love Jack's shirt. Mercer used to have the same shirt and we called it "monkey shirt." We don't normally name our clothes.
Also- that's quite a bruise on Lottie - poor girl. This lady that helped me at the fabric store today had a huge bruise on her chin and it totally looked like some serious facial hair. I really thought she had a big ol' goatee on her chin. I felt bad about staring, but it was like looking at a car accident - I couldn't avert my eyes no matter how hard I tried.
I just can't believe how much hair that girl has, my goodness..
1. Poor little Lottie! Ouch! But I LOVE all her hair!
2. Ladybugs are probably the only non-gross bug, good pick, Jack!
3. Fun to have your parents with you for a few weeks...their missions FLEW!
Come back to your blog! But I am sure you are having a grand time with your parents...enjoy!
