I'm a big spender. I don't mean I spend a lot or that I like expensive things. In fact I love finding things at garage sales and Goodwill or at least on clearance, but I spend a little bit of money on a whole bunch of things. All of the sudden I'm kind of sick of myself though. I'm sick of buying things and wanting to buy things and looking at things to buy. I would rather have a years worth of living expenses in the bank, and I really want to save $30,000 for a down payment on a house and I want to pay off our car so we can get a van. I know those are big goals which may or may not happen but I know they absolutely can't happen if I keep going like I am. So starting today I'm on a spending fast. For at least 30 days, or maybe longer if I'm not out of the spending habit yet. So let's hear a big hip hip hooray for saving!

You can do it Brielle! Even if you come across some great sales, there will be more sales in the future. I love your Dad's saying, it's not "On sale", it's really "For sale". I hope at the end of this you will post how much you saved, that would be fun to see too and maybe even how you do along the 30 days.
We should create a support group. I have the same problem. Robyn can attest to that. I'm getting better, though.
Good for you! You'll miss the spending, but you'll be soooo glad you have that money!!!
Those are some good goals. I wish you all the luck in the next 30 days! By the way very pretty picture of you!
I will join you!
Go Brielle! You can do it.
Way to go Brielle. You will love the satisfying feeling you will have in a month after you see all the money you have saved. I had to go on a spending fast shortly after we were married. I just told myself I wasn't going to buy anything for a month and it really did work. Keep it up!
