Snowman's Birthday

Meet Jack's snowman. It came off Grandma's Christmas tree just minutes before we left Canada. He sat in Jack's chair the entire 8 hours home and hasn't been far from him ever since. I'm not sure if it reminds him of his Grandma or the snowman we built in the yard that one time but he just loves it.
This morning Jack came staggering into our room messy haired and blurry eyed muttering something about his snowman talking. We were thinking it was about some dream he had so we asked him what the snowman said. Apparently today is the snowman's birthday.
His 2nd birthday to be exact.
The snowman was hoping for pizza, a train cake and presents. (this sounds very similar to a birthday party we went to last week for Luke) I thought he would forget about it and move on to the next thing but he didn't stop talking about snowman's birthday party all day. So tonight we had the party. We had homemade pizza and carrot cake cupcakes but no presents because I don't give in to EVERYTHING my kid wants!
Here's Jack and Lottie "helping" me make carrot cake.

Sometimes I wonder who's training who here.

You are such an awesome mom!
I must warn you that flour in a child's eye will cause pink eye and a trip to the Dr. followed by eye drops. I learned this when Zak was that age and helping me in the kitchen. Maddie was making pancakes just last month and must have rubbed flour in her eye. It is not pretty when your kid has pink eye. I'm sure that Jack is fine, but I thought I would pass along some unwanted advise.
Happy Birthday Mr. Snowman!!!

Wow!! I had no idea about flour in the eye. Thanks for telling me that Jen, I'll be careful about that.

That is too cute! We've had to have a pretend "birthday party" before too - never for a snowman though. So fun.

What a good helper Jack is, and what a lucky little snowman!

I wish we lived closer and Owen and I would have come to the party. Those cupcakes look so yummy, share the recipe, please! I don't know if I have it in me at this point to take the time for cupcakes, it seems like I only have the energy for dinner, but these make me want to try.
