Wow--8 days without Internet or TV. I don't really want to do that again! So we're finally all moved in and it feels so nice to be able to have some room to move around.
The actual move was just as painful and frustrating as expected. I happened to be at a birthday party Monday night last week and the dad of the little birthday boy mentioned to me that he had Tuesday off if we needed any help. So since no one else had offered to help that made moving day Tuesday. I had planned on dropping my kids off with a friend all day so that we could work but as it turned out we needed to get the moving truck and that meant leaving our car at the Uhaul place which meant we didn't have a way to get them over there which meant they were with us through the whole ordeal.
The men took about 3 trips over with the truck and then me and the kids came over. It was about 8:00 at night and no one had eaten since about noon, no beds were set up and the men had pretty much just opened the door and left everything in a huge pile in the entry way. (I'm talking couches stacked sideways up to the ceiling, boxes covering every inch of walking space). Not that I'm not grateful for the help but what a mess!
But my mom (having moved a lot) taught me well so I stayed up most the night unpacking boxes and moving furniture and hanging pictures so that when the kids got up they were home. I love our new house. I love having a garage and a pantry and a quiet neighborhood and I especially love looking out the window while I make dinner and seeing things like this:

it's beautiful!
Are you renting or did you buy this house?
Brielle,
I stalk your blog and boy do I enjoy it (the blog, not so much the stalking). I just had to tell you that. You are an adorable mom and an entertaining writer. And I'm happy you live in a house and have room to stretch and let the kids go nuts (my kids are ALWAYS going nuts).
Holy cow! That is a nice house, plus you have a swing set?! Super great!
It looks so nice. Wow what a lot of work! I'm glad you guys got some help. You have a swing set in your backyard?! That's awesome!
What a great place, Brielle! In a month or so you won't even remember all of the hard work but you'll be so grateful for all of the lovely space you have now.
WOW you are doing why better then I am.....I haven't got a picture hung up yet!! It looks great. I would love to come down and see soon! Okay?
Congrats on you new house! I wish we had a bigger back yard, heck, I would settle for our little one with some grass!
How fun! Sorry about the no help moving. If we were there, we'd definitely help! I think Royce ended up calling people individually--more pressure that way. Apparently someone in the elders quorum complained that it's not 'a moving service' and since then they won't help as much. :(
what a beautiful home. A garage. Now that is Posh! I haven't had one of those since I lived with Grandma Wollenzien. I had to chip my car out of the ice this week. Love that back yard and the kitchen. How fun!
