I wonder if I can convince grandma to get me a train even though I'm not married. I love having a train around the christmas tree. This year we have a fake christmas tree in my apartment. I miss the smell or a real one.
yum that dinner looks soooo good right now! Your tree looks so festive and fun too! I wish we could have gotten a real one, but we put up our fake one 'cause Sam is sometimes like that in that he doesn't want to "waste" money. But we still have fun! Oh and I was going to tell you that I asked Sam about the whole rice and almond tradition and he said, "yeah that tradition was ok, but not really fun 'cause I never got the almond and always ended up crying that I didn't get the prize." He said he always thought his parents hated him! Isn't that so funny! I was laughing so hard. So we decided that would be a good tradition if we changed it to whoever found the almond would get to open the family Christmas present on Christmas Eve and the whole family would get to enjoy whatever it was.
I love the smell of real Christmas trees, but they are SO expensive and putting on the lights is NO fun; so we got a beautiful pre-lit fake one last year (after Christmas sale - 75% off!) and now we don't even have to worry about our double wide/home going up in flames! But I still miss the smell...I wonder if a candle would help!? Your turkey looks great - I haven't dared to cook a turkey yet, because I know you gotta put your hands inside it! Yuck!
