Car repair---$379.00
Bi-annual car insurance bill---$474.00 (that one we should have expected but we always forget)
Anti-virus computer software---$40.00
Extra high electric bill---$130.00
Extra high phone bill---$189.00 (this one is my fault--I went over 150 minutes...oooops!)
Potentially expensive Christmas trip coming up---?
All the other normal bills that come up every month and in about 5 weeks or so we're moving.
Last night John came home from work with this new little problem:

That stinks. I had to have our car insurance billed monthly and pay a $3.50 monthly fee just to avoid the quarterly or bi-annual HUGE payment that we always seemed to forget about, too. We are supposed to be using this budget system that helps you amortize your big expenses so they are easier to handle when they come up, but it never seems to work for us. We, too, pay for the big car repairs rather than putting money aside each month to save up for the unexpected. It's just a bummer when it happens during the holidays. Sympathies.
Wow not good. I have to say the same things happen to us too! It's frustrating and overwhelming. I didn't know you guys are moving though. Where are you moving to? Are you getting a house?
Moving across town???? How fun, want to see pictures of the place. Plus I still hope you are going to Canada for Christmas, you guys will have soooo much fun!
That sucks rocks...but it's so true! Whenever we get our tax return back aka a little extra money something always goes wrong with our car..I guess I could say that at least we had that extra for the car repair.
But it des seem to come in clusters. Our most recent "cluster" = 1300 root canal, 750 car repair (ugh), 300 state board exam fee, 500 national board exam fee, 100 new battery for my lap top, $? christmas...ahh the joys of money??!!
Sorry! I had more to say, but thought then it would be ridiculous to have 2 messages, so here is the condensed one message: Yep! Isn't that the way life goes with bills?! Us, too, we had medical bills (from the baby, shattered ankle, on-going physical therapy, etc.), new tires for the car, etc...this Christmas will be a skimpy one for us, but it will still be fun because isn't this the way it is supposed to be for the first 10 years of marriage?! Oh, where and when are you moving you, too? That will be good - I hope it has a yard! FUN!
oh man...that sucks. with the phone bill...one suggestion. call them and say how sorry you are and see if there's anythign they can do... often they'll cut your bill down if you agree to up your minutes for the upcoming month, then you can drop them back down. it's worked for me many times. just be super nice and apologetic. they really do want to make you stay...
good luck! so frustrating...
But for everything else there's Mastercard (Sorry, couldn't resist).
Where are you moving? Back to Utah :)
Oh, hey, I wanted to tell you that I did a bit of research on double strollers (the best and lightest seems to be a Phil & Ted), I found one on craigslist.org super cheap - a lot of times, they'll mail it to you, too!
Bummer. That is never fun. Where are you moving? It will get better. It has too. Christmas is right around the corner.
