CONFESSION: Lights out

Earlier this week my visiting teachers came over and taught me a lesson. It was nice. Towards the end of it they asked me a really simple question about prayer and then another one about fasting. I looked back at them in a complete stupor. Nothing.....brain empty. I had absolutely nothing even the slightest bit interesting or insightful to say.

Do you ever get this way? I notice this when my personal scripture study is lacking a bit. So as I was talking to my husband about it he admitted he's been feeling the same way lately. So we've decided to add the "Preach My Gospel" book to our nightly scripture study. Here's the plan---put kids in bed, then meet at the table for prayer and scripture study---then whatever else (tv, blogging, etc.) My hope is that by putting this out there we will stick with it.

When we opened our book last night we found this: (on almost every page)

At least one of us has been taking advantage of this book.

Completely on the same page with you regarding scripture study. Sam and I keep telling each other, "ok tonight we are really going to start studying better" and then I fall asleep at like 9. We need to do better. Good for you guys and preach my gospel though!

We gotta get better at it, too! I remember how I was so much better at spirituality when I was single...shouldn't it have gotten easier with being married?! We are re-committing our family, too!

I love this idea!! Not so much the color-on-every page idea, but using the book with scripture study:)
