Don't you just love October? This is the best time of year and today was the official beginning of the holiday season as far as I'm concerned. For the first time in several hot and humid months it was cloudy and drizzly which gave me a perfect excuse to throw our Wollenzien October Party. First get out my little collection of glittery pumpkins. Jack calls these "pumpkin heads" and I think I'm going to drive him completely mad until the end of October when I may let him play with them. He can't believe these are not toys and that their not for him.
Then spend all day baking Octobery things to enjoy at the party. These are bone marshmallows in homemade hot chocolate. Now, I know that sounds a little ridiculous but honestly the marshmallows are soooo easy to make and homemade hot chocolate is just worth it.
And little donuts that Jack calls "chocolate chips cookies."
I only invited family members that go to bed after 5:30 and we worked on some Halloween crafty things to send to our grandma who's sick.
We also watched that Charlie Brown Pumpkin movie but mostly we ate and ate and ate until we all felt sick. .

Happy October!

I'm really hoping that those first pumpkins don't have little beads on it! I'm pretty sure you're the one who hates that texture.

p.s. I noticed our homemade pumpkin pillow/ornaments in the background!
