He was killing me last night as he stuffed this pillow in his pants to make a tush. That makes me think of other things I like about my husband.
I like how he just loves pumpkin pie so he makes one every time the last one runs out. But he can't just open the can of pumpkin into the crust-he likes butternut squash pie better so that means roasting the squash, then adding a bunch of magical ingredients to the food processor, then he makes his mom's pie crust. It's such an ordeal but he just loves butternut squash pie. (this is really the best pumpkin pie I've ever tasted. Get the recipe here.)
I like how he will let me read my silly love story books to him even though I know he thinks they are totally outrageous and ridiculous. He even went a couple weeks talking to me in poetry like Edward Cullen. I think he assumed I would realize how stupid he sounded and tell him to stop but I don't know a woman on earth who doesn't like to be talked to like that.
I like how he insists that he couldn't care less coming home from work to a messy house. I can't understand that because messy houses stress me out but he says--If I were you, I would just play with the kids all day. Who cares if there's toys laying around?
I like how he lays in bed and night and strums on his guitar.
I like how he knows everything. I've never asked him a question about government or history or computers or music or cooking or how to pronounce a word that he didn't know.
I like how he takes me really seriously and when I told him that I don't want to live in an apartment anymore because I need a place for Jack to run around and I need a place to park my stroller he's started looking for a house for us.
And I really really like how there is nothing in the world that makes him happier than his children. When he works late he likes to sit on the couch across from me and ask me all about the cute things they did today. I know he'd rather stay at home and play with Jack's trains and legos with him but he goes to work so that I can.

Now it's John's turn to write a long post about all of the things he loves about his wife. That pie sounds really good, I think I will try it. Pumpkin pie is my absolute favorite and I ask for it on my birthday every year. I also love all squash, so that pie sounds mouthwatering to me right now. Zak and Maddie will be wearing their clothes backwards this week for Drug Free week. Tomorrow is a "turn your back on drugs" day.
Mostly I wrote this because I've been hard on John for the last couple weeks and I've been feeling bad. You really should try that squash pie recipe, it's sooooo delicious.
Hey Brielle, You have a great husband and you two are made for one another. I know this because you're mom told me yesterday. Yep...That's Right...I saw your mom and dad and they are doing great. Your mom is always such a sweetheart and I am thankful that she got to see grandma before it was too late. She sure misses you two girls and wished we all lived closer to one another. I do to! The nurses called my dad yesterday and said Grandma only had a few minutes to live so we all rushed down to the nursing home. Grandma is in the last stages of death and doesn't look like grandma at all. I felt good though because she probably knows that she is surrounded by people who love her.
I wanted to let you know cousin Lauren's blog because your mom kept talking about how cool blogs are and that they keep us all updated on one another. I agree. It is Laurensvibe.blogspot.com. Have an awesome day!
Sorry--Don't hate me! I just treat comment boards like e-mail. I just had to tell you that Angie has pictures of Grandma on her blog if you wanted to see what I was talking about.
