OktoberFest

I got the October Edition of Martha Stewart Magazine and I got totally inspired to throw an OktoberFest party when I read this menu. I was able to prepare the entire meal while my kids were doing this-----
and this-------
But as I was making the Sauerkraut I remembered that Sauerkraut is totally disgusting. It smells like a pile of manure and it tastes even worse. I was a little thrown because we had invited friends over to play OktoberFest with us. So minutes before they arrived I told JC to get that offense to my senses out of the house because the smell was so unappetizing. It's now in a plastic bag out on the porch until I get around to taking it out to the dumpster. ( see previous post) The party turned out to be a kick in the pants anyway. Here's the only picture I ended up getting of OktoberFest. What's better than 3 boys sharing a beater of whipped cream?

Again, a terrific picture of Miss Lottie. She looks like she is having a ball. I agree about the sauerkraut, oh unless it is on top of a hotdog. Love you sweetheart, we wish we were there to share the Octoberfest...miss ya tons....The Church is true, what else matters!...YerMom

I love Sauerkraut--is that wrong?

Sorry about the offensive smell but what a great idea for a party. You should have had a selection of ginger, apple and root beer in true Octoberfest fashion.

Ya sauerkraut is gross...but Rotekraut is really good! I can give you my german Grandma's recipe. It's red cabbage. And it's yummy. You are so domesticated man! I'm like lucky if I can get hot chocolate out of a package...lol.
