31 years

JC asked for new running shoes for his birthday this is what he got. I figure he can buy his own shoes whenever he wants but how often do you get a bouquet of shoes and flowers decorated by your almost 2 year old.

We had to extend JC's birthday to the entire weekend this year because on the 5th he was strongly requested to make an apperance at the ward talent show. This is JC warming up the audience with his witty banter. He sang that John Denver song "Home Grown Tomatoes" in the hopes that people would be inspired to give us some. We came home from church with two bags today.

Saturday night we got to go on a bonafide date with a babysitter and everything. (although she refused to be paid since our kids were asleep the whole time) I took John to Costplus in Indy to get Fred Ferkel candies.

Here's the story on the Fred Ferkels. JC discovered these candies on his mission in Germany and when he came home he brought one package with him to save for some unspecified special occasion. On a date to the Manti Temple with me six years later he finally opened the Fred Ferkels and we ate them together. I was planning on getting these imported from Germany for his birthday this year but when I called around I found they sell these right here in the USA. John was pretty happy to see these and we cleaned out the store of them.

Don't you just love Costplus? Such an uncreative name for such a creative store. We also bought some chinese lanterns, a pumpkin candle and some toys for Little JC.

Here is the interview conducted over dinner and the fancy Italian Resturant in Indy---
